Who Wants to Marry an Astronaut?

David and Quique have maintained a relationship for fifteen years. For David, that time has been a journey of love, complicity, and small certainties; until he decides that the moment has come to move to the next level. He then plans a getaway along the iconic Route 66, with a dream stop: to get married in Las Vegas, under a romantic and unforgettable ceremony.

However, when the moment for the surprise and the proposal arrives, Quique publicly rejects David. The blow shatters everything David had envisioned for their future together. But far from collapsing, he chooses not to give up on his dream of experiencing a wedding in Vegas. He decides to move forward alone, even if it means finding someone willing to marry him in just ten days. A race against time that transforms into a romantic comedy with shades of an emotional road movie, exploring unexpected encounters and the value of accepting second chances.

During that brief time window, David meets Esteban, a friend of his best friend, who becomes a key piece in his search. Amid hurried dates and introspective moments, the protagonist faces his insecurities, rejection, and the genuine desire to be loved for who he is.

Director David Matamoros has shared that the character of David is partly an alter ego of his, a romantic dreamer who still believes in happy endings, even though reality insists on hitting his expectations. According to him, some of his cinematic inspirations were Sandra Bullock's comedies: something light, fun, and equally tender.

The film features a cast led by Raúl Tejón (David), Raúl Fernández de Pablo (Quique), Alejandro Nones, and Sabrina Praga, among others, in a co-production between Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay, produced by companies like Mr. Miyagi Films, Sombra Cine, and Mother Superior, with support from ICAA, INCAA, PUA, and TV3.
