Winter Brothers

Winner of the Silver Leopard for the best male performance, tells the odyssey of Emil and Johan, two brothers during the cold and raw winter in a region of Denmark. The brothers are bound to work together during this very untimely time. It will not be easy, the low temperatures and the harsh working conditions, since they work in a stone mine. Everything seems to go normal, their routines, their habits, their low aspirations. However, while Johan, the older brother, is more sensible, Emil, the younger brother, loves to cheat and make small steals. While earning some money by trading beer, the fragile balance between the two brothers will be broken when Emil loses his job and causes a partner to struggle between life and death. His strange behavior, which already provokes a certain aversion at work and in the neighborhood, will become open hatred against the young man, who will not count either with the help of his brother.
