Plot
''You're not crazy'' collects, in an intimate way, testimonies from more than forty people, including victims, teenagers, and professionals (including judges, journalists, pediatricians, and psychologists) that illustrate how the judicial system systematically fails children and women suffering from vicarious violence in Spain.
A narrative about how the judicial system does not always support the victim. The film is a cry for help and at the same time a song of hope, reminding us that there is still much work to be done regarding gender violence, but it is through the unity of victims and, in fact, of everyone, that the change that has been sought for so many years can finally take shape and that is still necessary today.
María Bestar rescues the story she already told in her 2023 short film to now direct and produce a documentary film focused on vicarious violence, with very well-researched sources that start with herself. The actress was a victim of vicarious violence and turned to art to share what she experienced.
The film has the support of the United Nations, the ministries of equality, youth, and childhood, and features recognized actors such as Eduard Fernández, Luis Tosar, Maxi Iglesias or Jordi Planas, the short film's original actor.
