The end of 'Game of Thrones' is gradually drawing near, and while we have yet to say goodbye to the series and its characters, the actors have already had the chance to bid farewell to their characters and co-stars, although not with the end of filming for season 8. The actors from the HBO series have already filmed their final goodbyes in a reunion special, separate from the final season, which will be presented by Conon O'Brien.

Game of Thrones

Sean Bean already hinted at the existence of an on-screen reunion, and now finally Entertainment Weekly has made it official; the last goodbye from the actors will come in a mysterious reunion, about which we have very little information, but which we do know will not be streamed via HBO. Furthermore, we know that next year a complete collection of all eight seasons will be launched, and among their contents will be this exclusive special. However, as of yet it is even unclear as to when this series set will be available to buy, although it clearly will be some time after the end of the last season.

It is still a mystery as to whom will participate in this special, although according to EW it will include the cast from season 8. With regards to any additional characters from other seasons throughout the years, it is possible that we might see a old few familiar faces, since Sean Bean, whose character died in the first season, has already confirmed his own appearance. Nothing has officially been confirmed regarding these old characters, although that being said, Jason Momoa was spotted in Belfast along with Kristofer Hivju, the city in which they filmed this special, during the filming for the final season. We might speculate: a trip for work or for pleasure? Before we can enjoy this exciting reunion of all the actors who brought George R.R. Martin's stories to the small screen, we still have the final season to enjoy, which is coming to HBO in April of 2019.

The End Draws Near

After nearly 10 years of 'Game of Thrones' it is time to close the door on the fiction with a final season which promises to come charged with excitement and one of the most epic battles the series has ever seen. Six episodes is all that separates us from the discovering the conclusion and the fates of the beloved characters played by Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage and co. We already know that it will be an emotional ending, causing more than one actor to shed a tear...
