Nowadays, it's possible to make the news and steal the show without even being present. Case in point: Macaulay Culkin who spent the evening of 4th March tweeting about the 2018 Oscar award ceremony without even tuning in. Yes, that's right, the actor announced his plans to live tweet the event without watching only a few hours before the ceremony began. Culkin also asked his followers if they had any suggestions for what else he should have done that night.

No-one was safe from Culkin's witty tweets, although the actor paid particular attention to Casey Affleck, Kevin Spacey, Harvey Weinstein and some of the most popular nominees. The former three individuals have made headlines recently due to accusations of sexual harassment.

What ever happened to Macaulay Culkin?

The last time we saw Culkin in a noteworthy film was back in 1994s 'Richie Rich'. Back then, Culkin was just 14 years old. Throughout the past two decades, the actor has all but disappeared from our screens, having only taken up minor roles in programmes like 'Robot Chicken' and 'Kings'. In fact, the actor's pretty impressive thread of tweets about the Oscars is probably the most meaningful thing he's done lately. Given his profile as a child actor, many believed Culkin would become a huge star as he grew up.
