It won't be long until the series that will see the 'Star Wars' universe expand even further arrives on the new streaming platform, Disney+. The series will launch the same day as Disney+, which will be 12th November 2019 in Canada and the United States, though Disney+ has been operating in Holland since 12th September for testing purposes.

'The Mandalorian' will tell the tale of a bounty hunter far beyond the New Republic, filling the viewer in on the events that occurred five years after 'Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi'. But it seems that this premise sounded somewhat different to the ears of its leading actor. Pedro Pascal thought at first that we would play the most famous bounty hunter of the Empire, Boba Fett. Perhaps the rumours surrounding a series about Fett as well as the similarities between the two characters confused Pascal.

Pascal as The Mandalorian (not Boba Fett)

"I wanted to get to know Jon Favreau. It didn't matter to me what he wanted me to do. So we met in Jon's office, which was full of illustrations of the series. I immediately noticed The Mandalorian, a character like Boba Fett. I thought to myself, "Oh, it's great that finally that they're finally going to go deeper with this character." John told me the story, the visual concept, and the tone. I thought that it was great and finally, I asked. Who am I then? I pointed at various characters, creatures, and aliens from the concept art, and John looked at me and said "You are the Mandalorian".", Pascal confessed for the Disney interview.

This is when the confusion between director and actor began. "I was like, what? I'm going to play Boba Fett. He told me that I wasn't Boba Fett. That I was The Mandalorian. I can't imagine a better moment," finished Pascal.

'The Mandalorian' in the canon

Despite this disappointment, fans have since been asking if some of the characters from the first trilogies will appear in the series. "I don't want to say anything that could be fun for the fans to discover. Part of the fun resides in whether part of the trilogies, prequels, 'The Clone Wars', will emerge within the series. But you're asking the right questions," Favreau declared to EW when he was asked about other famous characters of the galaxy far, far away. We'll have to wait until 12th November to find out for ourselves.
