Saga The Godfather
It is possibly the most famous trilogy in the history of cinema. Francis Ford Coppola directed the three 'The Godfather' films, that started as an adaptation of the novel with the same title by Mario Puzo but ended widening the Corleones' story. 'The Godfather' opened in 1972, followed by 'The Godfather II' in 1974 and 'The Godfather III' in 1990. Among the films, Marlon Brando's protrayal of Vito Corleone and Al Pacino's job as his son Michael were also made part of movie history. 'The Godfather' is considered one of the best movies of all time, and 'The Godfather II' is commonly used when an example of a sequel worthy of the previous film legacy is needed. 'The Godfather' is the most successful film of the franchise with 243 million dollars worldwide. The first movie of the trilogy won three Oscars, and the second one won six statuettes. This two movies won the Oscar for best picture, and Marlon Brando took home the Oscar for the best main actor as don Vito Corleone.
