Camera Cafe

'Camera Café' is a Spanish comedy series created by Arancha Cuesta and directed in its early seasons by Luis Guridi, which portrays the everyday work life of a group of office employees from an original perspective: all the scenes take place in front of the company's coffee machine. This common space becomes the epicenter of confidences, complaints, rumors, and absurd discussions that reflect the internal dynamics of the corporate world.

The coworkers in front of the coffee camera take their breaks (and shirk their responsibilities) and talk about their work and personal problems in a comedic and entertaining way. We have Antúnez (Luis Varela), the company director, who always reminds his employees that he has been there since photocopies were made on typewriters; Bernardo (César Sarachu), the accountant and eternal teenager who still hasn't become independent and doesn't plan to; Jesús Quesada (Arturo Valls), the sales manager who spends more time in front of the coffee machine than at his workstation; Julián Palacios (Jesús Chamarro), sales manager, union leader, and inseparable companion of Jesús; and Cañizares (Esperanza Pedreño), the secretary of the Marketing Director Victoria de la Vega, played by Ana Milán. 

Through brief sketches and recurring situations, the series explores hierarchical relationships, managerial incompetence, work routine, and the small miseries and great things of office work. The protagonists engage in conversations filled with ironic humor and social criticism, addressing topics such as work stress, promotions, layoffs, employees' personal lives, and the alienation of modern work, with a customary and satirical tone.  

'Camera Café' aired from 2005 to 2009 on Telecinco and was produced by Magnolia TV. The fiction consists of 4 seasons and more than 500 episodes, and is an adaptation of the French version, which in turn led to other international adaptations.
