Landman

'Landman' is a U.S. television drama created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. It is inspired by the podcast "Boomtown," hosted by Wallace himself. The series is a production for Paramount+ that premieres in November 2024 to great success, and is soon renewed for a second season.

The actor Billy Bob Thornton is the lead in the show, playing Tommy Norris, a "landman" from West Texas responsible for managing several oil operations. His mission includes, among other things, mediating between extraction companies and local communities, trying to achieve a peaceful coexistence among all. However, envy, corruption, and power are constantly present in an industry that moves an enormous amount of money.

The cast of 'Landman' also includes Ali Larter as Angela Norris, Tommy's ex-wife; Jacob Lofland plays Cooper Norris, the son of Tommy and Angela who left college to work alongside his father; Michelle Randolph is Ainsley Norris, the daughter of Tommy and Angela, while Mark Collie plays Walt Joeberg, the sheriff of Midland County. In the second season, the series adds Demi Moore and Sam Elliott as regular characters.

Filmed in the Fort Worth, Texas area, the series has garnered critical acclaim and several award nominations, particularly for Billy Bob Thornton. The entire cast won the 2026 Satellite Award for Best Television Ensemble.
