Merlí

'Merlí' is a television series of Catalan origin produced by the TV3 network. The protagonist is Merlí Bergeron (Francesc Orella), a philosophy teacher with unorthodox methods that lead several parents, teachers, and students to complain about his way of teaching. His main interest is for these young people to be able to think for themselves, managing to develop all the ideas about the most important philosophers. Each episode revolves around one of the most prominent thinkers, serving as a link to the students' storylines. 

Merlí arrives at the Angel Guimerá Institute after being evicted and starting to live again with his mother. In his new job, he will have to face a very heterogeneous group of teenagers, each with their own way of seeing the world. However, the biggest conflict will be with his son Bruno (David Solans), with whom he will have to learn to coexist despite the complicated relationship they both have. Bruno's mother has gone to work in Rome, so the young man will begin to live with his father and grandmother.

Created by Héctor Lozano, directed by Eduardo Cortés, and written by Lozano himself, Mercè Sàrrias, and Laia Aguilar, the show aired from 2015 to 2018, concluding in its third season. Among the rest of the main cast are Carlos Cuevas, Elisabet Casanovas, Albert Baró, Marcos Franz, Pau Durá, Pepa López, and Carlota Olcina.
