Riverdale

Set in the present day, 'Riverdale' is a TV series based on the characters from the Archie comic, created by John L. Goldwater. It was produced by Warner Bros. Television along with Berlanti Productions and Archie Comics for The CW Network. 

It is set in the small town that bears the name of the series and tells the story of Archie Andrews, a young high school student who discovers his love for music in a town that hides more than one secret.

Archie shares his passion with Betty Cooper, a sweet girl who has been in love with him for some time, but who will be overshadowed in his eyes by the newcomer Veronica Lodge, a sophisticated and self-assured girl from a wealthy life in New York.

Despite having an initial rivalry, this will not prevent both girls from becoming friends in a more than hostile environment, especially when Kevin Keller and Moose Mason find the body of the captain of the American football team, Jason Blossom. 

'Riverdale' transforms the comic book universe into a dark and twisted tale, where mystery, crime, and teenage drama mix with surrealism and unexpected twists. 

Throughout its seven seasons (2017-2023), the series becomes increasingly daring and incorporates criminal plots, cults, time jumps, and supernatural elements. Its exaggerated visual and narrative aesthetic resonated with young audiences and it was declared a cultural phenomenon.

It was created by Greg Berlanti ('Arrow'), and starred KJ Apa (Archie Andrews), Lili Reinhart (Betty Cooper), Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge), Cole Sprouse (Jughead Jones), and Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom). Together, they brought to life a modern and dark version of the iconic characters from the American comic book.
