The Boarding School

'El internado' ('The Boarding School') is a Spanish production by Globomedia that was broadcast on Antena 3. 

Its story revolves around all the secrets hidden by one of the most prestigious schools in the country, the Laguna Negra boarding school, where strange things begin to happen following the arrival of two new students. 

All the events will unfold with the entrance of Marcos (Martiño Rivas) and Paula Novoa (Carlota García), two siblings whose parents have disappeared under suspicious circumstances. 

Upon their arrival, they will find themselves under the tutelage of the school's director, Héctor de la Vega (Luis Merlo); and the intriguing twists will begin to occur, situations in which everyone seems to react by pointing to little Paula as the center of the mysterious. 

No one is who they say they are in Laguna Negra and everyone there has something to hide. Deaths, corpses, dungeons, mutant animals, and ghosts are hidden in the vicinity of the boarding school.

It will be Marcos and his group of friends consisting of Carolina (Ana de Armas), Iván (Yon González), Victoria (Elena Furiase), Roque (Daniel Retuerta), and Julia (Blanca Suárez) who will try to get to the bottom of the matter.

'El internado' became one of the biggest youth phenomena on Spanish television, standing out from the rest for its mix of mystery, horror, and teenage drama, as well as its careful aesthetics and plots full of unexpected twists, which maintained a loyal audience week after week. Furthermore, it had a huge impact that established it as a cult series and definitively launched the careers of several of its artists.
