Matthew Prichard himself, the grandson of the famous writer, stated in an interview for the French magazine Télérama that the four-part episode that led to the creation of the series, 'Hercule Poirot's Christimas', was the best television adaptation ever made of this novel, despite changing the character of Hercule Poirot.

The first season is set in the decade of the 30's, while the second season is set between the decade of the 50's and the decade of the 60's.

Much of the novels have been located in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, the former region now belonging to Hauts-de-France, following the merger with the region of Picardy. A place located to the north of France, near the border with Belgium.
