Jeffrey Daniel Whitty, usually credited as Jeff Whitty, is a North American playwright, actor and screenwriter that started his career on theatre, winning a Tony Award for his work on 'Avenue Q', musical play starring human actors and muppets.
In 2018, Whitty changed the stage for the big screen as he wrote the script for 'Can You Ever Forgive Me?', author Lee Israel's biopic starring actress Melissa McCarthy. Whitty received a BAFTA for the screenplay and was nominated to an Oscar on the Best Adapted Screenplay category.
