Joan-Marc Zapata

Joan-Marc Zapata Boldú (Barcelona, September 14, 1989) is a Spanish film director and screenwriter. Zapata is graduated in Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Girona and did a Master's degree in directing at the Bande à Part film school in Barcelona. It was in this city where he began to direct his first projects. Since 2011 he has made short films that have received nominations and awards in Spain and around the world. Some of the most importants are "The Amazing Thailand Film Challenge" that won in 2016 and "Bright Side in D Minor", which was shot in Switzerland and was the winner of prizes at important festivals such as the Medina del Campo Film Week. The film 'Color of Heaven', starring Marta Etura, winner of the Goya Award for Best Supporting Actress, and Francesc Garrido, is his debut as a director of a fiction feature film.
