'BPM (Beats Per Minute)' is the chosen film to represent France at the Foreign Language category for the 2018 Academy Awards.

Its premiere was at the 2017 Cannes Festival, and it won four awards, including the Grand Prix.

Director Robin Campillo and co-screenwriter Philippe Mangeot drew on their personal experiences with ACT UP Paris in developing the story.
