Plot
'2 Hearts' is a North American romantic drama directed by Lance Hool based on a script by Veronica Hool and Robin U. Russin. It premiered in the United States on October 16, 2020, delayed by the pandemic, and generally received poor reviews. The film claims to be based on the true story of Leslie and Jorge Bacardi (from the rum brand of the same name) and Christopher Gregory.
The movie tells two love stories separated by several years: that of Chris and Sam, and that of Jorge and Leslie. Jorge is a young man who, as a child, is misdiagnosed with a terminal illness. Chris, on the other hand, is an apparently normal young man who suffers an unexpected accident that leaves him in a state of brain death.
After registering as an organ donor, Chris's lung ends up being Jorge's, allowing him to overcome his illness and live many more years than he expected. '2 Hearts' narrates the stories of these two individuals and their partners, united by the same organ, and how Jorge is determined to meet Chris's family after receiving his lung.
The film stars Jacob Elordi and Tiera Skovbye (who play Chris and his partner), and Adan Canto and Radha Mitchell, who play the other couple. The cast is completed by Tahmoh Penikett, Kari Matchett, Jordan Burtchett, and Anthony Konechny. The film was a failure due to the pandemic, although it enjoyed some popularity later after its release on the streaming platform Netflix.
