This is the story of Octavio and Adela, two people born in two neighboring towns during the same dawn when the II Republic is proclaimed. This means that, from the very first day, and without them knowing it, their lives are intertwined, linked in the shape of an '8', during eight moments that are crucial in their ninety years of life.

All of this unfolds in a specific historical context, that of Francoist Spain. Their destinies, separate yet united, and also confronted, gradually begin to attract each other, until they ultimately merge completely in their late but deserved love story.

'8' is a film directed by Julio Medem, known for previous projects such as 'Lucía y el sexo' and 'Los habitantes del círculo polar'. Ana Rujas and Javier Rey are the protagonists of this feature film. Both have a long career in the industry. She is primarily known for her work in 'Cardo' and 'La Mesías', while he has been part of important projects like 'Fariña' and 'Velvet'. Alongside them are other great actors such as Álvaro Morte ('La casa de papel'), Tamar Novas ('Los abrazos rotos'), Loreto Mauleón ('Los renglones torcidos de Dios'), Carla Díaz ('El Príncipe'), María Isasi ('30 monedas'), and Mateo Medina ('Entre tierras').
