Sophie Brown is a popular author of a successful literary saga who, after divorcing in real life, kills off the female protagonist of her novels. She does this by visiting her father's hometown, Dunbar, where they are also great fans of her novels.

Becoming a local celebrity, she decides to visit a castle for sale, owned by the peculiar Duke Myles Dunbar. Sophie is willing to acquire the property, but Myles is not willing to part with it despite needing to. Thus, they reach an agreement: they will share the property for three months. Sophie begins to gradually discover the true state of the castle, while the unexpected cohabitation between her and the Duke will lead to paths she never imagined...

'A Castle for Christmas' was filmed at Dalmeny House and Tantallon Castle, two properties north of Edinburgh. The film is starring Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes in the main roles, with appearances by Vanessa Grasse, Desiree Burch, Lee Ross, and Andi Osho, among others.
