A Chiara

Claudio and Carmela get together with the rest of the Guerrasio family to celebrate their eldest daughter's eighteenth birthday. Everyone is very happy and everything seems very normal until the next day, Claudio has disappeared. This leads Chiara (Swamy Rotolo), the youngest of the sisters at 16, to search for her father in what will become the ultimate coming-of-age adventure. This is the third feature film by Jonas Carpignano, who has previously written and directed 'A Ciambra', produced by Martin Scorsese, and 'Mediterránea'. With ?A Chiara', he closes this trilogy set in the Italian region of Calabria.

The film won the Europa Cinema Labels Award at the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as the award for Best Director and a special mention for the cast at the Seville Film Festival. In addition, Swamy Rotolo, who plays Chiara, won in the Best Actress category at the Lisbon and Estoril Film Festival. It was also named Best International Film at the Zurich Film Festival, and was nominated for Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Editing at the Independent Spirit Awards. It was produced by Stayblack, Rai Cinema, Haut et Court, ARTE, Eurimages, the French National Centre for Cinema and Animated Image and the Italian Ministry of Culture.
