Abah and His Band

'Abah and His Band' is set in a kingdom inhabited by fruits ruled by a king who no longer has the strength to continue on the throne. In the midst of this delicate situation, an orphaned prince, the pineapple Aba, is also going through a tough time: he is unable to accept the destiny that has been imposed on him. He wants to dedicate himself to music, but he has to face certain responsibilities. This is where the conflict begins, as he realizes he must choose between pursuing his dreams or taking on what is expected of him. 

A Brazilian film directed by Humberto Avelar, with César Coelho, Daniel Fraiha, Sílvia Fraiha, and Sylvio Gonçalves on the script, which mixes music, comedy, and action to create an accessible and entertaining proposal for both children and adults, featuring a soundtrack that encompasses a multitude of different styles and becomes a hallmark of the characters themselves. 

The film addresses a multitude of current themes, such as coexistence in diversity, finding one's own identity, the need to maintain a respectful relationship with the environment, and the vital importance of listening to oneself. The aesthetics, with a warm color palette and animation that pays attention to details, is accessible to all audiences. 

'Abah and His Band' has participated in up to 20 festivals, including some as prestigious as the Sitges International Film Festival, the New York Animation Film Festival, and the KidFestival in Málaga.
