Sebastian Maniscalco plays himself in the new comedy that he signs with Austen Earl directed by Laura Terruso ('Hello, my name is Doris' or 'Fits and Starts') and produced by Chelsea Kujawa, Andrew Miano, James Myers, Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz. Maniscalco stars alongside Robert De Niro, Kim Cattrall, Leslie Bibb, Anders Holm, David Rasche and Brett Dier.

After years of relationship Sebastian believes that the time has come to formalize things and he wants to ask Ellie, his girlfriend to marry him. Salvo (Robert De Niro), Sebastian's father, as a parent, he advises his son that before he pleads, he should meet Ellie's parents. It is then when his girlfriend proposes Sebastian to spend the weekend of the fourth of July at her parents' house, to which Sebastian responds that his father should attend too since he will not leave him alone. In this weekend, both the young couple and the parents, will know new facets of each other that will put on the tightrope the relationship of Sebastian causing doubts about the proposal of marriage. A clash of cultural differences, based on the comic Sebastian Maniscalco's own relationship with his father, his family life and the education received from his parents as Italian immigrants in the United States.
