Kathy Phillips (Debra Winger) is an experienced FBI agent who moves to a small town in rural Nebraska. When the protagonist begins to work on a farm strikes up a close friendship with the owner, Gary Simmons (Tom Berenger). Both are attracted from the beginning and Gary is an attractive, familiar and affectionate man. So when she is about to finish his work and turns to pack home, he asks him to stay.
