Dietrich Bonhoeffer (Jonas Dassler) is one of the many victims of World War II. However, he died for simultaneously acting as a pastor, spy, and assassin. Being originally a theologian of the Confessing Church, his life changes when he is assigned a mission with an important objective. He will have to travel far away from his home for achieving it.

It involves traveling to Germany to infiltrate the Nazi troops and gain the trust of Adolf Hitler. All of this would lead to his assassination attempt on July 20, 1944, when Operation Valkyrie was put into action to kill the dictator. However, the plan fails and everything goes terribly wrong.

Bonhoeffer is now seen as a traitor and is captured to be executed by hanging. His end, although its tragic point, marked a turning moment in modern history. 'Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin.' is a film directed by Todd Komarnicki, who previously directed 'Sully' and 'Elf'. He also wrote the screenplay.

The cast of the film includes names such as Phileas Heyblom (who plays the young version of the protagonist), August Diehl, David Jonsson, Flula Borg, Moritz Bleibtreu, Nadine Heidenreich, and Greg Kolpakchi, among others. The title arrives in Spain through A Contracorriente Films, which distributes it across the country and brings it to theaters on May 16.
