Plot

Directed and written by Italian actor Sergio Castellitto, 'A Bookshop in Paris' adapts a script originally written by Ettore Scola, together with Furio Scarpelli and in alliance with Silvia Scola, entitled 'Un drago a forma di nuvola', translated as 'A dragon in the shape of a cloud'. A screenplay written by Castellitto, together with his wife Margaret Mazzantini, rescued and reworked to bring it to the cinema, after the success of its graphic novel version that Ivo Milazzo drew.

Castellitto, also the main role of the film, takes on the role of Vincenzo, a man who dedicates all his time to his two loves: the bookstore he owns in the beautiful city of Paris and his daughter Albertine (Matilda De Angelis). His life is marked by the charm of the everyday, a sweet tranquility that he fully enjoys until one day Yolande (Bérénice Bejo), an exuberant, fun woman with an extravagant touch, breaks into his store. Vincenzo falls in love of her energy, her charm, and her beauty. The man will feel again emotions that he believed were slept and that will question the way of understanding his life.

An intimate, poetic and moving tale that the great Ettore Scola created and that Castellitto brings out of oblivion to offer a romantic drama with comedic overtones with the enchanting city of Paris as the setting for love and hope.
