Carnal Knowledge

Jack Nicholson stars in this bitter-sweet comedy that follows two college roommates seeking sexual fulfillment. Jonathan, a successful tax attorney and Sandy (Art Garfunkel), a physician, personify two extremes of self-delusion and self-aggrandizement. One chooses the narrow confines of the marriage contract, the other the broader pleasures of playing the field. A few years later Jonathan and Sandy are successful in their professions and boring with their mates. This film is the first collaboration between Mike Nichols and Jack Nicholson.
