Danis Tanovic was made known with his first feature, 'No Man's Land', in 2001. This film had innumerables prizes, like Best Scrip in Cannes Festival or Public Award in Donostia Festival.

'Death in Sarajevo' won the Jury Grand Prix and the Fipresci at the Film Festival of Berlín 2016.
Almost touching the Oscar
It was the official submission of Bosnia for the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category of the 89th Academy Awards in 2017, but it was not nominated.
