Disco, Ibiza, Locomía

'Disco, Ibiza, Locomía' is an upcoming Spanish biographical drama film, originally titled 'Locomía', directed by Kike Maíllo and co-written by Marta Libertad. It has a stellar cast headed by Jaime Lorente, Alberto Ammann, Alejandro Speitzer, Iván Pellicer, Pol Granch, Javier Morgade, Albert Baró, Gonzalo Ramírez, Eva Llorach and Blanca Suárez.

The plot transports us to the mid-80s in Spain, where a group of friends led by Xavi Font (Jaime Lorente) arrives in Ibiza with the aim of entering the fashion industry. There, they are discovered by producer José Luis Gil (Alberto Ammann), a musical magnate in search of new talents to form a group. Despite lacking singing experience, the group embarks on a career that takes them from a bohemian life in Ibiza to filling stadiums in Latin America, while revolutionizing nightclubs worldwide.

Filming of the film began in May 2023 and concluded in July of the same year. During production, the original title 'Locomía' was changed to 'Disco, Ibiza, Locomía'. With a budget of 6.1 million euros, including 1.2 million euros in aid from the ICAA, the film promises be a vibrant tribute to 80s culture and the Spanish music scene.

The official launch was initially scheduled for April 19, 2023, but it will finally hit theaters on May 17, 2024, from DeAPlaneta.
