Plot
'Emma's Dream' tells the story of the young Emma and her father Marcos. Together they share their home in a humble house in the Delta del Tigre, a river region near Buenos Aires. In the midst of rehearsals for a Shakespeare play that Emma is preparing for school, a dream is born in the young girl: to travel to London to become a great actress. After her efforts during these rehearsals and in light of her teacher's admiration, she secures a scholarship to England as part of a cultural exchange project. Despite the excitement with which Emma receives the news, this will mean separation from her father. Both fall into a deep sadness, but they try to stay connected in this new life that leads them to a different and novel form of love and care.
Germán Vilche is the director of this feature film. The script is co-written with Federico Arzeno and Adrián Caram. The young Emma is played by the actress Luthien Ramos in her first film. She is joined by other actors such as Sebastián Arzeno, Verónica Intile, Luis Ziembrowski, Lautaro Murray, and Julia Azar.
The film, treated as a drama, is described by critics as a simple tale that dissects a father-daughter relationship, featuring naturalistic performances from both new faces and more established actors.
