Firebreak

''Firebreak'', the new psychological thriller coming to Netflix on February 20, 2026:

It starts as an attempt to close chapters and ends up becoming an agonizing struggle for truth and survival. 

Mara (Belén Cuesta), still marked by the recent death of her husband, decides to travel with her daughter Lide, her brother-in-law Luis, Elena, his wife, and their son to the family summer house in the woods, intending to prepare the property for sale and heal emotional wounds that have been left open. 

What was supposed to be a final farewell gesture turns into a nightmare when, after a heated argument, Lide disappears without a trace among the trees just as an uncontrollable wildfire breaks out in the area. 

The situation becomes critical: the flames spread rapidly, the authorities suspend the official search and order immediate evacuation, but Mara, desperate, refuses to leave the forest without her daughter. Faced with the refusal to obey and the voracious advance of the fire, the family makes an extreme decision: to venture into the heart of the burning area to find Lide. 

Their only possible help is Santi, the forest ranger played by Enric Auquer, whose presence (initially reassuring) soon raises doubts and tensions. As night falls and the fire tightens its grip, suspicions arise within the group itself: what if the fire is not the only danger? What secrets do they hide from each other? 

Under the direction of David Victori, ''Firebreak'' is constructed as a claustrophobic thriller where the natural landscape becomes an unrelenting enemy, and true terror emerges in the silences, the extreme decisions, and the emotional cracks of a family on the brink of collapse.
