Carlos and Dani arrive for the first time at what will be their new home during their time studying away from home, the Tolentino University Residence. They are looking for new friends and to integrate, and they believe they have found the perfect opportunity when they are invited to go down to the catacombs (the basements of the College). Once there, the newcomers have the power to choose whether to stay or not. Carlos and Dani say yes, which means they accept 24 hours of tests, parties, discipline, and alcohol.

What initially seemed fun, a game to enjoy together and bond, gradually turns into something much more perverse. Pepe, a classist and cynical guy, is the leader of the veterans. He uses the status given to him by his seniority and popularity to corrupt the newcomers simply for fun. What was initially presented as a celebration of masculinity with absurd challenges quickly becomes a much more dangerous space where Carlos and Dani confront the worst of themselves.

THE ASPIRANT is a psychological thriller about hazing in college residences directed by Juan Gautier, exploring initiation into a masculine universe where power, machismo, and obedience are glorified.
