El Mundo
That's the problem, that normality gets confused by something close to misery. Guédiguian thinks he's right and presents his harsh reasons. The problem is the lack of modulation, not the lack of moderation.
Fotogramas
Through this dialectic narrative proposal, of opposite sides and extremes, Guédiguian creates a critic of the distortion mechanism of the consumer society. This message arrives to the viewer in a very convincing and indisputable way, but it's also underlined, denying any aspect and closing the possibility of a debate.
La Razón
The catalog of misfortunes that threatens parents and children of a working class family is so surreal, the villains are portrayed in a very grotesque way and the eldest generation -who lived throught the year 1968- is so willing to sacriface itself, mostly to the youngests' emotional inability, that the film doesn't take even ten minutes to become a caricature of itself.
