Plot

Daniel is on the brink of being released from the prison in which he has been serving time when he receives a letter from his daughter, Mathilda, containing a picture of his newborn granddaughter. This revelation takes him back to Marseille, where his daughter has recently given birth to the little Gloria.

Nicolas, Mathilda's husband and supposed father of the baby, is a self-employed Uber driver suffering from physical and psychological exhaustion as a result of his job and his new role as a father. One night, Nicolas is assaulted by a rival group of taxi drivers who consider him unfair competition. Meanwhile, Matilda is on probation in her role as a sales assistant and knows she could be fired at any moment, despite needing to provide for her little girl.

On another branch of the family, Gloria's grandmother dreads facing her co-workers who wish to band together and demand a fair salary. Whilst she agrees with the cause and wants to show her solidarity to it, she fears losing her job as a result.

Amidst this string of misfortunes, Gloria's uncle devises a business plan that could see the whole family through this difficult time.

The movie is directed and written by Robert Guédiguian ('Une histoire de fou', 'La villa') and stars Ariane Ascaride ('La villa', 'Les chatouilles'), Jean-Pierre Darroussin ('La promesse de l'aube', 'C'est quoi ton nom'), Gérard Meylan ('Cézanne et moi', 'La villa') and Anaïs Demoustier ('Alice et le maire', 'La fille au bracelet').
