I Am What I Am

Yuen is a modest guy from a poor neighborhood of China. Since little, everytime the Lion Dance take place, he goes with his parents to see it. One day, the young Yuen meets a girl that fascinates him with her lion dance. He falls in love equally with her and the dance, so much that he decides to become dancer. With his two lifelong friends, he will train hard to make his dream come true: participate in the Lion Dance Competition.

The journey of this three friends will not be easy, because coming from a poor neighborhood, many times they will have to face situations where people ignore or intimidate them. By surprise, they will meet a local fish seller who in the past was an excellent dancer and will teach them everything they need to become great dancers.

This animation full-length film directed by Haipeng Sun ('Kung Food. Una aventura deliciosa'), guionizado por Zelin Li y producido por Yi Animation present the story of this guy around one of the most important traditions of the chinese culture. This dance tooks place in almost every celebration of China, especially on the Chinese New year. Is known that in this dance the lion represents the strength and the courage, and thanks to them, this dance attracts happiness and wealth.
