Johnny Guitar

'Johnny Guitar' is a 1954 dramatic western directed by Nicholas Ray starring Joan Crawford, Sterling Hayden and Scott Brady. It was based on the namesake novel written by Roy Chanslor.

Crawford portrays a strong, fierce and strong-willed woman called Vienna, who's a saloonkeeper in a cattle town from Arizona. She has a bad reputation and a bad relationship with the local men and women and they want her to leave for good alongside her friends. When a stagecoach arrives with their leader Emma Small, Vienna's nemesis, and tries to get to the saloon to finish her off, an old friend of her named Johnny Guitar, who used to be a well-trained gunman, will be decisive to help her old friend saving her life and dreams.
