Plot
The film is on the 19th century. Jude Fawley (Christopher Eccleston ) is a man who has always lived humbly , as peasant . Jude has always dreamed of being a learned man , with knowledge. But Arabella, a young sexy woman seduces Jude and finally, they married. During their marriage, Jude realizes he doesn't loves her and broke his marriage. In this new journey he meets with her cousin Sue (Kate Winslet ), a woman ahead of her time. Both begin a beautiful friendship that will end in love.
