La buena hija

Júlia de Paz returns with 'La buena hija', a adaptation of the homonymous short film by the Catalan filmmaker. De Paz takes the helm of direction and shares the script with Nuria Dunjó. In her film, the director addresses the separation of parents, which causes Carmela, their daughter, and her mother to move in with her grandmother. This will entail the well-known and necessary adaptation period, in which Carmela wishes to spend more time with her father, an artist whom she has admired devotedly since she was little. However, the paternal figure casts a shadow over the three women and drives them to decide the future they want.

Kiara Arancibia makes her film debut with this intimate and realistic portrayal of a family drama, accompanied by Janet Novás in the role of the mother, Julián Villagrán as the father, and Petra Martínez as the grandmother. The cast is completed with actresses such as Anna Cerveró and Flavia Biurrun.

'La buena hija' is produced by companies like 3Cat, Astra Motion Pictures, and RTVE. It is a co-production between Spain, the United States, and Belgium, distributed by Avalon Films. It has had an excellent run at festivals, where it has won several awards. Additionally, it is presented at the Málaga Film Festival, where it is competing for the Biznaga de Oro.
