Last Men in Aleppo

'Last Men in Aleppo' follows three volunteers of the White Helmets (Khaled, Subhi and Mahmoud) in their work of asistence and rescue of people from places where military strikes, debris removal and collection of corpses. Apart from make the audience experience what it's like to live in that city, it also deals with the issue of how these volunteers wonder about their future and the future of their families, asking themself: do they flee or stay and fight for their country.

The film directed by Firas Fayyad and Steen Johannessen is the first movie ever to be nominated to the Academy Awards. In addition the documentary has won the World Cinema Jury Prize: Documentary at the Sundance Festival.
