Romain is a man who studied Medicine and is now working as a locum in an psychiatric hospital where the the most severely mentally ill men in France are held. One such patient is Léo (Dany Boon), who is, like the rest, clinically insane, but suffers from a rather unique disorder: he claims to be a secret agent who is incognito and responds to the name "The Lion" (hence he title of the film). Romain initially tries to ignore his insistent claim, and is immersed in his daily activities as a locum doctor. However, Romain's focus is threatened when his fiancee disappears. The disappearances causes the paths of Romain and Léo to cross once more as the latter promises that he can help to track down the fiancee and, in his panic, Romain accepts. Despite Léo's promises, the psychiatric center setting leaves it unclear as to whether Léo really is a detective or whether it is simply all in his mind. This conflict draws the plot into a space caught between reality or madness and suggests that we are all, to some degree, balancing on this fine line. This film produced by Monkey Pack Films and Piste Rouge is directed by Ludovic Colbeau-Justin and stars Dany Boon, Philippe Katerine, Anne Serra, Samuel Jouy, Sophie Verbeeck and Carole Brana amongst others.
