L'Eclisse

In the suburbs of Rome, the translator Vittoria (Monica Vitti) breaks her engagement with her long time fiancé, the writer Ricardo, after a troubled night, and she leaves the apartment. Vittoria goes downtown to meet her mother, who is addicted to the stock market, where she spends most of the day, and she meets her mother's stockbroker, Piero (Alain Delon), on a day of crash. Both of them feel attracted physically to each other. Finally the materialist Piero and the absent Vittoria begin a monosyllabic relationship.
