Plot
Third feature film from iconic saga anime 'Magical DoReMi', the first feature film in the franchise since 'The Secret of the Frog Stone' release in 2001. Premiered at the 33rd Tokyo International Film Festival, its premiere in Japan, scheduled for May 2020, it had to be delayed to November of the same year due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Winner of the award for the best animated film at the 75th edition of the Mainichi Film Awards.
Three women who grew up watching the 'Magical DoReMi' series embark on a magical journey that will change their lives forever. They are Sora from Nagoya; Mire, from Tokyo, and Reika, from Onomichi. Three women have nothing in common, no age, no occupation, or even personality. The only thing that unites them is that they are extremely puzzled to be living a life that they had not foreseen when they were young and that they grew up watching the iconic anime that aired between 1999 and 2003. The TV animated series narrated how the apprentice witches used to meet in the Maho-do store, inspired by a Kamakura building.
Starting from a predestined encounter in that place, the trio takes a tour of all the places associated with the series. Sora, Mire, and Reika laugh, cry, support each other, and spend valuable time together as they understand that Doremi and her friends have always been by their side... The important message that the apprentice witches taught them gives them a gentle nudge that carries them to take a new step forward.
