Plot

'Maquia' is the name of an immortal girl whose hometown of Lolph is destroyed by people seeking the source of her people's immortality. Fleeing the danger, Maquia soon finds herself homeless, friendless and all alone, that's until she stumbles across an abandoned baby boy. Mortal, Erial has lost his parents and is left all alone in the forrest. Enter Maquia, also an orphan, who takes it upon herself to care for the baby boy. The film tells the story of the two and the friendship that blossoms between them as Erial grows older and ages and Maquia stays the same. Mari Okada has both directed and written the film.
