Maspalomas

For decades, homosexuality has been persecuted and viewed unfavorably by a part of society. 'Maspalomas' brings us the story of Vicente, an elderly man who was not afraid to express his sexuality and openly declared himself homosexual. However, when he is admitted to a nursing home, he decides to go back into the closet to prevent possible future problems.

José Mari Goenaga ('La trinchera infinita' or 'Cristóbal Balenciaga') writes and directs, alongside Aitor Arregi ('Marco' or 'Handia'), this story that is nominated for best film at the 2025 San Sebastián Festival. An LGTBIQ+ drama that touches on themes such as aging and maturity. With a cast composed of actors such as Nagore Aranburu, Zorion Eguileor, Kandido Uranga, Kepa Errasti, Cristina Yélamos, and José Ramón Soroiz, portraying Vicente, they star in this Spanish feature film produced by Irusoin, Moriarti Produkzioak, Maspalomas pelikula, ICAA, ETB, and RTVE.

Javier Agirre Erauso is responsible for the cinematography of this feature film, which will hit Spanish theaters on September 26, 2025, following its premiere and participation in the San Sebastián Festival, where it will compete for the Golden Shell in the best film category.
