Plot
The protagonist of 'Menteur' is Jérôme, a compulsive liar. Jérôme's family and colleagues decide to give him an intervention in the hopes of finally making him acknowledge his problem and get the help he needs. However, this ends in an argument where Jérôme denies everything. The next day, Jérôme wakes up to realize that all the lies he told have come true: his car always has a flat tire, his co-worker is always asleep at work, and his sister-in-law has a crush on him. The only one who knows that things aren't really like that is Thibault, Jerôme's twin brother, who wants to push him to realize that he has a big problem and must get out of the situations he has gotten himself into.
The film 'Menteur' is a remake of the 2019 film of the same title. It is directed by Olivier Baroux, winner of the 2019 César Audience Award for 'Les Tuche 3'. Baroux also wrote the screenplay based on the original film, signed by Eric K. Boulianne, Sébastien Ravary, and Émile Gaudreault, who also directed the film.
The adaptation's cast includes Tarek Boudali, Artus, Pauline Clément, Catherine Hosmalin, Karim Belkhadra, Louise Coldefy, Bertrand Usclat, Philippe Vieux, Guy Lecluyse, and Florence Muller.
It is a Gaumont production, co-produced by M6 Films.
