A documentary analysis about the conservation of regional song in Asturias, filmed in black and white. Focused on elderly women in a rural area where emigration and changes in values threaten the loss of oral traditions.

In the middle of the Asturian mountains of Somiedo there is a place where time stops, between the real and the fantastic live women who preserve old songs, masked monsters that dance under the moon and numerous legends that are told around the fire. A well-known musician, Raül Refree, decides to leave everything and travel there to record all this legacy before it becomes extinct.

Marta Lallana dedicates her second non-fiction feature film to the Asturian oral tradition. She was captivated by the stories about the last guardians of the tradition past the Negron tunnel . This is how she began an investigation into the romances, songs and legends that were not written or recorded on a pentagram, that were only passed from mothers to daughters in Asturias and that, like an entire generation, were being dying.

Thanks to the collaboration of four women who still hum the history of their towns, the film is responsible for taking us by the hand through areas such as Cangas de Narcea. This is where Refree makes an appearance, which has been trying for years to recover that heritage with the help of artists such as the brand new National Prize for Current Music, Rodrigo Cuevas.
