Plot
'Once Upon a Time in London' is a crime drama directed by Simon Rumley ('Crowhurst') following the rise and fall of the British crime empire from the 1930s to the 1960s. Leading the story are Billy Hill (Leo Gregory, 'Green Street Hooligans') and Jack "Spot" Comer (Terry Stone, 'Rise of the Footsoldier'), two gangsters hailing from London's East End involved in everything from illegal gambling at the races to heists. The two men, unable to work together, foster a bitter rivalry that divides loyalties in ever street.
The film begins in 1936 during the Battle of Cable Street, a street-fight between the Blackshirts and the anti-fascists. Following the battle, the powerful Italian crime family, the Sabinis, are detained and a power vacuum is created in the world of underground crime. What follows is a violent power struggle between different gangs and mobsters who wish to dominate the streets of London and strike fear into the hearts of those who hear their name.
Written by Simon Rumley, Terry Stone and Will Gilbey ('After the Screaming Stops'), 'Once Upon a Time in London' explores the golden age of gangsters in England's capital. Joining the cast are Andy Beckwith 'Queens', Josh Myers ('Fighting with my Family') and Christopher Dunne ('28 Days Later').
