One Battle After Another

After 16 years of silence, an old enemy returns with force and a thirst for revenge, forcing a group of former revolutionaries to reunite once again. The protagonist, Bob Ferguson (Leonardo DiCaprio), must lead a dangerous personal mission: to rescue his teenage daughter, Willa (Chase Infiniti), who has been kidnapped by the feared Colonel Steven J. Lockjaw (Sean Penn).

On his journey, Bob receives help from an enigmatic mentor, played by Benicio del Toro, who trains him through unconventional methods — including throwing him from a moving vehicle — to prepare him in the art of survival and fear-free freedom.

As the rescue operation evolves into a larger crusade, old ideals are rekindled, unexpected alliances form, and the wounds of the past resurface. Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, and Alana Haim complete the cast of this ensemble story that intertwines dark comedy, political action, and deep personal emotion.

The film is loosely inspired by Thomas Pynchon's novel Vineland (1990), reinterpreting its themes of dissent, surveillance, resistance, and memory from a contemporary perspective on today's America.
