Orphan

This French drama tells the story of the lives of four different women of different ages; in childhood, adolescence, young adulthood, and as a grown woman. The child, Kiki, is playing hide and seek when a tragedy occurs and her two friends disappear. Teenager, Karine, runs away from her desolate family home and runs into various men and mishaps. The young woman, Sandra, has just moved to Paris and is trying to find her place in the world, surrounded by wealth and temptations at every opportunity. And lastly, we reach the grown up woman, Renée, who is desperately trying to escape her past. It soon becomes clear that these four snapshots are different stages in the life of this one woman.
