Picture Perfect

'Picture Perfect' is a American romantic comedy directed by Glenn Gordon Caron with a screenplay by Arleen Sorkin. It is a production by 3 Arts Entertainment for Fox, which premiered in the United States on August 1, 1997. The film receives mixed reviews but is a relative commercial success, grossing over 44 million dollars on a budget of 18 million.

Kate is a New York advertising executive who has not advanced in her professional career for years. Her boss does not trust her because he does not consider her stable enough. To fix things, a friend of Kate makes up that she is engaged to Nick, a cameraman she met at a wedding and has not spoken to since. However, the news is enough for her boss, who grants her the desired promotion.

Things get complicated when he invites Kate and her partner to dinner with his wife. Then, Kate sets out to find Nick to propose that he act as her boyfriend in front of her boss. This whole charade begins to awaken the jealousy of Sam, a coworker of Kate who has always been in love with her but has not dared to take the first step. A romantic and work-related love triangle from which she soon won't know how to escape...

'Picture Perfect' is starring Jennifer Aniston, Jay Mohr, and Kevin Bacon, with supporting roles by Illeana Douglas, Kevin Dunn, and Olympia Dukakis. It is one of the first works of a very young Kaley Cuoco, who only had one line of dialogue that was cut in the final edit. It is also one of the first romantic comedies starring Aniston during her successful run as Rachel Green on 'Friends'.
