Plot

Marina travels across Spain to meet her biological paternal family, as her parents died of AIDS when she was just a child. Through the stories shared by her relatives, such as her uncles, aunts, grandparents, and other close ones, the girl tries to reconstruct the narrative of her parents that she barely got to know. However, modesty and shame take hold of the relatives, and they avoid discussing delicate topics such as drug use within the young couple, something that is inevitably present due to the young girl's search for answers. What ultimately allows the teenager to imagine a portrait of her parents is a romantic idyll she shares with one of her cousins, which brings her closer to them in some way. Thus, the girl creates a story thanks to the diary she finds belonging to her mother, which helps liberate her from the heavy burden her family feels about them, leading to an understanding of the past. This film concludes the trilogy about family memory that the director began in 2017 with 'Verano 1993' and continued in 2022 with 'Alcarràs'.

Carla Simón ('Lipstick', 'Las pequeñas cosas', 'Home', 'Después también' o 'Correspondencia') writes and directs this feature film, with the musical score reserved for Ernest Pipó and the cinematography by Hélène Louvart.
